a) All electrical installation work will comply with BS7671: 2018 and any amendments in force at the time of the works.

b) All electrical installation work will comply with applicable Building Regulations in force at the time of the works.

c) Where work is to extend or modify existing circuits, costs quoted assume that the existing installation is in adequate condition and complies with minimum current regulations. Any works found required to bring the necessary parts of the existing installation up to standard will be at additional cost.

d) Unless stated otherwise, all cables will be concealed by chasing into the building fabric or concealed in building voids, under floors, etc. Where impracticable, cabling will be neatly surface run, either clipping direct or housed in trunking / conduit.

e) Where carpet or flooring coverings may require lifting to allow concealed installation work, no charge is made for this service, with best endeavours being made to avoid damaging them and to refit them to an acceptable standard. However, consideration of employing a specialist fitter may be prudent, at your cost to effect a fully satisfactory reinstatement.

f) For small jobs i.e. replacing a metal back box or small chases between accessories, if there are any small gaps to be made good, we may apply an all purpose filler to the surfaces. Doing so is to our discretion. No other making good is allowed for or will be completed.

g) All endeavours will be made to undertake installation work to a clean standard, using dustsheets and vacuum cleaning equipment as necessary. However, dust is inevitable. Where agreed before hand and at extra charge, we can provide a cleaning service.

h) Whilst undertaking the installation work at the property, the client is required to provide water and power free of charge.

i) For property rewires the property must not be inhabited without prior agreement.

j) Removal from site and disposal of rubble, fittings, wiring, materials, general waste and packaging is chargeable and included on all estimates and invoices and forms part of the materials cost. The cost of waste disposal is variable depending on each individual job and the amount of waste produced. Should the client or site already have their/its own arranged waste disposal i.e. skip, it is assumed that we have the use of these services and we will prioritise it above disposing of waste ourselves.

a) Clearing and/or moving of furniture and other items blocking access to work areas are not included.

b) Except where detailed, builders/other trades work (creating of holes larger than 50mm diameter, creating of support structures or stud walls, disconnecting or connecting of water supplies etc) are not included, except as outlined in 1 e ,f and g above.

c) Making good is excluded from quoted costs. No allocations have been made. For jobs that require it, a professional plaster and/or decorator would be recommended but this is solely the responsibility of the client to organise.

a) All extras and variations must be agreed in writing prior to commencement.

b) Extras are classified as any change or additional work that is not part of the original estimate and specification. All extras are charged in addition to the original estimate.

a) Unless stated otherwise, Bartlett Electrical Ltd use the following materials as standard: • White plastic accessories: Crabtree • LED down lighters: Collingwood H2 lite 500 (warm white, matt white bezel) • Metal accessories: Click Mode or Hamilton • Consumer units and switchgear: Hager or CP FuseBox • Smart Home accessories: Lightwave • EV chargers: MyEnergie

b) All materials supplied by Bartlett Electrical Ltd are sourced from local and reputable wholesalers. Some more specific items may be purchased from established online suppliers.

c) Some materials may have a lead-time, which could delay the start or completion of a job. Bartlett Electrical Ltd takes no responsibility for any time delays or financial costs due to materials lead-time.

d) Materials supplied by the client/customer must be inspected prior to a Bartlett Electrical engineer fitting or installing them. Bartlett Electrical Ltd will hold no responsibility should any item be defective, broken, faulty or incorrect.

a) All job prices given are estimates. The price quoted is not fixed and variations may occur, but if so they will be agreed upon prior to any work commencing. The job estimate has been made with assumptions about the property and what’s involved with the job. Should anything be discovered that might extend the time taken to complete or require additional materials then this will be discussed and accordingly charged for.

b) The costs quoted assume continuous and unhindered access to the site by prior arrangement with you.

c) The customer continues to grant and facilitate the agreed and necessary access to the premises being worked on if the originally stipulated duration of the contracted works is to remain valid. Unless stated otherwise, the standard working hours between the hours of 08:00 - 17:00 Monday to Friday inclusive. Access may be required outside these hours to complete works on time as set out in the contract thus access may be required from 08:00 - 20:00.

d) Any additional work not covered in our quoted costs will attract additional time charge rate of £35.00 per hour plus materials cost.

e) All figures quoted for materials are subject to VAT at the prevailing rate.

f) No VAT is charged for labour.

g) All figures quoted are valid for a date of 30 days from the date of the estimate or quotation.

h) You have a cooling off period of 7 days from accepting an estimate from us or the length of time to the commencement of works if less than 7 days. If you were to cancel beyond the 7 day window, a cancellation fee may be charged.

i) All documentation and correspondence by Bartlett Electrical Ltd will be done so, as much as practicably possible, electronically (email, SMS messaging etc). Should physical copies of any documents be required by the client, an additional charge will be made to produce them. We have a mobile printing facility and can produce documents on site.

j) Our charges for printed documents are £2.50 for quotes, invoices, receipts, circuit charts, building control notifications and minor works certificates and £5 for Electrical Installation Certificates (EIC’s) and Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICR’s)

a) All work where applicable, will be executed fully in compliance with applicable Building Regulations and BS7671 in force at the time of the work, particularly in respect of work in dwellings to allow the legal Part P obligations to be met. Where a deviation from such regulations, a written instruction and record will be required.

a) The risk in all goods supplied shall pass to the Client upon delivery.

b) All goods supplied shall remain the property of Bartlett Electrical Ltd until all sums due have been paid in full. c) The client is responsible for ensuring that the property is insured for the duration of the installation work.

a) Bartlett Electrical Ltd offer a labour guarantee of 18 months from invoice date, providing that the invoice is paid within 7 date of the invoice being issued. Materials have their own manufacturers warranty issued so in the event of a faulty product, the relevant manufacturers warranty will be adhered to irrespective of any applicable labour guarantee supplied by Bartlett Electrical Ltd.

b) Warranty/guarantee does not extend to goods not supplied by Bartlett Electrical Ltd, physical damage to products, or any instance where the original installation has been altered or tampered with subsequently by third parties.

a) Unless agreed in writing, payment must be made in full to Bartlett Electrical Ltd within 7 days of the invoice being sent.

b) Failure to pay within 7 days of invoice being issued will result in a fully chargeable invoice should a return visit be needed relating to the job in hand.

c) Stage payments will be requested by prior arrangement where planned works take longer than 21 days or are over £3,500. We reserve the right to request from you stage payments in the instance where works take longer than 21 days.

d) Where jobs require materials costing equal to or grater than £2,000, a deposit may be necessary. This deposit will be subtracted from the job invoice. If a job is to be done in stages and payments taken accordingly, the £2000 and upwards limit will refer to the materials cost at that relevant stage. i.e. full rewire first fix materials: £1,200 – no deposit required, partial invoice issued and paid. Second fix materials: £2,800 – deposit may be required, deposited amount subtracted from next invoice.

e) Bartlett Electrical Ltd accept cash, bank transfer, cheque and card transactions as payment methods.

a) In the event of a dispute, mediation is to be the preferred method of resolution.

b) Where we use sub-contractors to complete tasks out of our description we do so in good faith. However, any problems that require a resolution will need to be done so with them directly. We do not guarantee the work of others.

c) In the unlikely event of a complaint, any remedial works will be undertaken by Bartlett Electrical Ltd employees or selected sub contractors. We do not pay for others to complete such tasks.

a) We reserve the right to take photographs and video of completed works for our records and for use in our portfolio unless requested in writing prior to commencement not to.

Price on request for jobs greater than 4 bedrooms, 18 circuits and 4 consumer units/fuse boards.
